Main Street LIVE is always looking for individuals with or without prior acting experience to expand our group of actors. We keep a mailing list of all potential actors who are notified when auditions for upcoming productions are scheduled. Come join our team and get an opportunity to perform on our stage.

STEEL MAGNOLIAS
Director Tea Compton will be holding auditions for the comedy-drama "Steel Magnolias" at the following dates/times:
Sunday, December 14th @ 5:00 pm and Monday, December 15th @ 6:00pm
CAST DESCRIPTIONS:
6 women, ages 18-70
Truvy Jones, the beauty shop's owner.
Annelle Dupuy-Desoto, Truvy's assistant.
Clairee Belcher, the former mayor's widow and a grande dame.
Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie, the prettiest girl in town.
M'Lynn Eatenton, Shelby's mother and a socially prominent career woman.
Oiser Boudreaux, a wealthy curmudgeon, acerbic but lovable.
Performances are on January 30th, 31st & February 1st & 6th - 8th
AND potentially extra show times with audience demand.
PLAY DESCRIPTION:
In the parlor of one beauty salon, six Southern women stand strong and rooted through life's trials, but remain as delicate and beautiful as the wise magnolia trees. The owner Truvy has recently hired an anxious but eager assistant, and the day's hair appointments are abuzz with gossip about a local lady's upcoming marriage! Based on the life and loss of playwright Robert Harling, Steel Magnolias has been a beloved tale since it was first performed.
