ANNOUNCEMENTS

July 15th, 2024: MSL Hires a New Executive Director

Main Street LIVE is thrilled to welcome Eric Shephard as Executive Director.

Eric brings more than 20 years of experience in arts administration, programming and curation, development, marketing, fundraising, education, and community enhancement to the position as well as an academic background in theatre performance. He most recently served as the Executive Director at the Waco Civic Theatre where he broadened the artistic presentations and efforts, growing the theatre’s presence in that community. He also served as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where he taught classes in Acting, Script Writing, and Theatre. Prior to his role at the Waco Civic Theatre, he served 15 years as the Artistic/Executive Director for the Vive Les Arts Theatre in Waco.

Eric will oversee all aspects of Main Street LIVE theatre operations including programming, marketing, fundraising, community relations, and strategic planning. Eric begins his role on August 1, 2024, succeeding former Executive Director, Alison England, who recently moved to New York City to pursue other artistic endeavors.

We are very excited to have Eric join us. His experience, energy, and vision are the ideal combination to guide us into our next chapter as a leading arts venue in Southern Colorado. His broad background in performing arts leadership and administration makes him ideally suited to oversee Main Street LIVE’s wide-ranging mix of production and presentation of theatre, music, and the arts. His personality and enthusiastic approach will be invaluable in helping Main Street LIVE continue to deliver best-in-class entertainment to Trinidad and the surrounding areas.

Eric will work with Main Street LIVE’s Board of Directors, Director’s Forum, and Planning Committee to build upon the organization’s vision to refine our own unique voice in the performing arts sector of our area. In following the original mission of the theatre, Eric will welcome resident artists and the community at large to engage with MSL and bring outstanding entertainment to the community.

Please drop by MSL to welcome Eric. He is looking forward to meeting theatre patrons and community members as he acclimates to Trinidad and begins his journey in our wonderful community. He would love to hear from everyone about what they would like to see MSL accomplish in the coming years.

May 15th, 2024: A Message from  the Board of Directors

Due to the national tour of Annie, we are unable to secure the rights in a timely manner so Main Street LIVE must announce that our planned production of Annie this summer is being moved to a future season. Without the rights and scripts, we must postpone the two workshops related to the play as well. We fully intend to bring Annie to Trinidad in the future, and the extra time we have gained will afford us the opportunity to bring you a production that everyone deserves.

Instead, we have selected a special version of Alice in Wonderland to perform in August—watch for an announcement very soon with full details.

We understand that our sponsor Phil Long Toyota, patrons, and the community at large were all looking forward to the fun, community involvement, and community enjoyment of casting and performing this musical; however, we are equally excited to showcase Alice in Wonderland in its place.

We thank you for your continued patronage and support for live theatre.

March 31st, 2024: Alison England Moving to New York

It is with great appreciation and well wishes that Main Street LIVE announces that Alison England has decided to move on from her role as Executive Director and move back to New York City in the coming weeks.  She has been instrumental in helping Main Street LIVE grow both the theatre’s presence and artistic endeavors in the community over the past year and a half.

We wholeheartedly thank Alison for her dedication and service to Main Street LIVE and truly appreciate the talent, enthusiasm, and energy she brought to our organization.  Although we are sad to see her go, we know she will be embarking on opportunities that will allow her to fulfill her artistic needs and goals.

Though her “home base” will be NYC, Alison will remain a part of MSL though most of  April, after which her services may be extended as we identify a replacement.

Check back often for more news!
